Our history

In 1928, Europe's first "100 atmospheres plant" is built in Mannheim. This 100-bar upstream facility of the large power plant in Mannheim lowers the fuel consumption from 700 to under 600 grams of coal per kilowatt hour. A lighthouse project is developed to which the Kraftanlagen stock company makes a significant contribution. This and many subsequent major orders turn the Kraftanlagen Group into a leading provider for plant and piping construction. 

Throughout the decades, Kraftanlagen has developed from a pure builder of power plants to a leading service provider for industry, the energy sector and the building services segment.

Today, the Kraftanlagen Energies & Services implements state-of-the-art processes and technologies all across Europe and offers custom and sustainable solutions that are energy efficient and therefore essential for the success of the energy transition.

The world we live in is in constant motion – especially with regard to energy and the digital transition. And our ability to innovate is the key to it. To us, innovation means rethinking things and creating the conditions for actively shaping our future. Because that is the only way we can overcome the challenges of the near future – from getting out of nuclear energy, shutting down coal power plants and finding a flexible and climate-neutral mix of energy sources.
